The new Wheels of Wonder Delosperma have been developed by Koichiro Nishikawa from FlorSaika, who is the same breeder of the first generation Delosperma Jewel of Desert.
That is why I started in Japan in 1996 with breeding Delosperma. However, it took me too long throughout the season. Therefore, in 2006, I moved to Ecuador with my loving family.
High in the mountains, he can make new breeds 12 months long. Everything goes much faster here. So he achieved his goal. The Delosperma 'Wheels of Wonder"-series. To see them, you do not need to come to Ecuador. Thanks to the efforts of Plantipp and Ron van Dijk they are now available everywhere.
Delosperma need to be planted in full sun. The type of soil is not important as long as the soil is very well drained. Delosperma hate wet feet, so do not spoil them too much.
The WoW series are multifunctional. This means you can use them as a groundcover, in a container on your patio or balcony and you can even use it as a hanging basket! Can you imagine what that looks like? We certainly do: it gives a WoW effect!
